One of the hardiest houseplants. It is particularly known as “the mother-in-law’s tongue” or the “snake plant”. It is a perennial plant coming from from tropical West Africa from Nigeria to Congo. Its leaves are long and pointed, dark green in the middle and light green – lime green at the edges, and are full of fibres, where it stores water in them. It grows quickly in bright places, but direct exposure to sunlight should be avoided. Also, it should not be exposed to cold air currents or heat sources in our room. However, it also thrives in shady places, but its growth is slower. They can also be kept outdoors in sheltered areas. It does not require much care, and needs sparse watering.
