Latin name: Ardisia crenata
Family: Primulaceae

Ardisia is a plant also known as Christmas berry that is grown as a houseplant. Its leaves are elliptical, wavy and bright dark green in colour. The flowering period of the plant starts in June with small, white or pink flowers which then become spherical fruits in red or white colour, where they remain until the next flowering period. It grows in bright places, but not exposed to sunlight for long hours, and enough water so that the soil in the pot is kept sufficiently moist, except on cold days when it is good to dry the soil before the next watering. As for fertilization, fertilize with liquid flowering fertilizer once or twice a month in spring and summer. Finally, this plant is susceptible to pseudococcus, so it should be regularly checked for white cotton-like marks on its leaves and trunk.
